Three Days of Art Mini-Camp

Marcella's got the right idea!
While Mommy has in-service, the girls had an art mini-camp at Grams'.  Three days of art with a bowling break with Grandpa.

Cameron's Owl Family

Cameron's "LOVE"                  and             Marcella's "ART"
Jewelry made by both girls.    Look for their booth at Augusta's Art in the Heart on 9/19.
Great Job, Sweet Girls!

"C" is for Cameron

"C" this!
Cameron wanted a giant "C" to put over her bed.  The orange matches her new bedspread.  She cleverly decorated this paper mache' "C" (from Michaels) with buttons.

Summer

It's been a busy summer for the girls, but we've been able to get in a few art projects.  The girls have created some beautiful art for their new rooms.  Check out these acrylic paintings:

I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ICE CREAM!!
YUM!!!

Shih Tzu Cutie

Marcella drew this beautiful dog on her own!  We framed it for her room.

Vines & Leaves

Cameron paints something for her room.

Basketry

The girls have been very busy this summer!  With swimming at the pool, visiting relatives, taking beach trips, and playing with friends ... well, they've still managed to do a ton of art.  Their jewelry work is going well, and they've sold product at their "shop" at the end of the driveway to relatives and neighbors.

Here are the results of a basketry class that they took at Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art.

In a small class at GHIA
Each girl made a hip basket and a key basket.

New technique

The three of us painted an acrylic using this technique.  We drew our subject, painted it with patterns and texture, then taped it with artist's tape.  Here, Marcella taped up her two birds.

Next, she painted the background with drippy wet acrylics.

Here she is removing the tape after the background has dried.

Voila'!  Beautiful!

Summer Fairy

Cameron painted this fairy with dandelion all on her own!

Giraffe for Cameron

All three of us worked on this giraffe for Cameron's room.  What fun!

Live, Love, Laugh

Marcella had fun searching for just the right colors and patterns for this trio.  She plans to hang them in her new room.

DreamScape

Cameron did an amazing job painting with acrylics and a bit of collage on this surreal dreamscape!

Mice Cream

We used cookies and candies to decorate a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream for a mousey dessert!  Yummy!

Cousin Ryan likes art too!

The girls got Ryan in the art room to decorate picture frames for their parents.

Add a photo to complete the project!

"Wood" you like this?

For Christmas the girls received wooden letters, wooden frames, and some other art supplies.  Marcella's goal was to make something a little different while Cameron crafted earrings.
She included pictures of her family around her "M".  I love the lavender ribbon.  This was entirely her creation... Bravo, Marcella!

Earrings

The girls have made tons of jewelry (especially earrings) since last summer.  I haven't been good at taking photos tho'.  Here is a pair that Cameron made.

Christmas Picture Frames

The only thing needed is a small photo!

Christmas 2013

A candle holder for all seasons

We had a lot of fun with this new project.  We painted recycled glass
jars with frosty acrylics to give a warm glow to these candle holders.
We decorated the screw tops with wire and beads.

A mini candle holder

  I love the soft glow.

Halloween 2013

Wow, I have some catching up to do...

The girls had lots of fun creating Halloween art last October.  I love the unique pumpkin art.
The sign is for their "Spooky Path to Candy."
