Painting on Glass

The girls were excited about painting on glass. We bought small glasses (votive holders) from Goodwill for $.50 each. Then we got out the acrylics. First, the girls practiced painting fish on small pieces of watercolor paper. C enjoyed adding air bubbles with 3-D Scribbles paint. M loved painting big fishy lips. They wanted glitter to make the water area sparkle, of course. After adding votive candles and some glass pebbles, the girls had beautiful gifts for Mommy & Daddy.

Garden Art

What to do with a box of popsicle sticks? We decided to make "garden art." Hot-glue several sticks together using two sticks along the back for support. Then paint the front. (UPDATE: DON'T USE HOT GLUE ....Use Gorilla glue!)

C planned her painting first; then she painted her beautiful flower with acrylics and added glitter. M decided to paint lots of small flowers, add sequins, glitter, and a feather. We hot-glued dowels to the back of the popsicle stick paintings and stuck them in the ground. Don't they look great among the daylilies?
