Marcella's got the right idea!

While Mommy has in-service, the girls had an art mini-camp at Grams'.  Three days of art with a bowling break with Grandpa.

Basketry

The girls have been very busy this summer!  With swimming at the pool, visiting relatives, taking beach trips, and playing with friends ... well, they've still managed to do a ton of art.  Their jewelry work is going well, and they've sold product at their "shop" at the end of the driveway to relatives and neighbors. 

Here are the results of a basketry class that they took at Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. 

In a small class at GHIA

Each girl made a hip basket and a key basket.

Summer Fairy

Cameron painted this fairy with dandelion all on her own!

 Marcella used a gel medium to create fluffy clouds and real sand and shells on the beach!

Yikes! More fairies!

It's a whole family of fairies --- including the first boy fairy seen in this area, Spencer. 

Cameron says the fairies feel right at home on the 3-D flower wall-design (see July 3, 2012 post).




However, these fairies might just get tired of hanging on the wall,  ... so ...













the girls work in the art room to create a perfect fairy house, complete with furniture and balcony!

Here's a bunk-bed with sparkly ladder and a red chair that Marcella made.

The red-painted main room, fabric-covered room, and swing-set were designed by Cameron.

The top room with French doors and balcony were created by Marcella.

And, here's the final project -- 4 and 1/2 hours later!!! --
set up on the back porch  ...

A fantastic fairy mansion... complete with playground!
