Basketry
The girls have been very busy this summer! With swimming at the pool, visiting relatives, taking beach trips, and playing with friends ... well, they've still managed to do a ton of art. Their jewelry work is going well, and they've sold product at their "shop" at the end of the driveway to relatives and neighbors.
Here are the results of a basketry class that they took at Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art.

Each girl made a hip basket and a key basket. |
New technique
The three of us painted an acrylic using this technique. We drew our subject, painted it with patterns and texture, then taped it with artist's tape. Here, Marcella taped up her two birds.
Next, she painted the background with drippy wet acrylics.
Here she is removing the tape after the background has dried.

Voila'! Beautiful!
