Crazy Cats
The girls were inspired by an artist at Arts in the Heart of Augusta last September. They painted with acrylics on a stretched canvas. Great backgrounds, too!

Collage...Decoupage...
With an American Girl theme, Cameron made this collage:
Marcella decided to decoupage a box for her treasures.
Then, both girls decided that these would make great wall art for their American Girls' bedrooms.

Painting Wall Art
These wooden peace signs came from Big Lots. The girls used acrylics and puff paint to make them pop!
COOL PEACE!

Underwater Watercolors
Cameron composes her underwater scene. Fish, a crab, some coral, some rocks, a starfish, seaweed, and a few bubbles.
La-Li helps Marcella with her composition.
Marcella uses masking fluid to save some highlights on her bubbles.
Cameron's work dries before we frame it. Notice that cute little crab.

Tape It!
This summer the girls decided to replace "The Sunshine Shop" and
lemonade stand from last year with a TAPE IT! stand. They have been
busy using Duck tape to create and cover all sorts of items.

Wall Sculpture
Believe it or not... these oblong pieces are made up of 1" cuts of paper towel rolls. The girls and I painted them with acrylics; then we laid out our design on a table top. The last step was to hot glue all these pieces together.
We used a few nails to hang it on the wall in the girls' room. Lovely!

Crock-pot chocolate
Yummy! Yummy! Easy recipe from the net. Just dump in slow cooker, wait 3 hours, spoon onto wax paper, and wait 'til cool. Chocolate covered peanuts and coconut!
Plastic Bottle Fish
Marcella is a whiz at being able to figure out how to make things. She saw these fish made by 5th graders at her school and knew exactly what to do. So, Grandpa saved her two plastic 2-liter bottles.
Great job, girls!
We cut off the bottoms (which make great water holders when painting with watercolors). |
We flattened the "tail" and stapled. Marcella is drawing the back fin. |
After using Sharpies to color, Marcella adds a fishy smile. |
Cameron & Marcella show their fishy lips below the bottle fish. |
Great job, girls!
